German-speaking Tour Escort

Excursions (Tour Escorts)

The Tour Escort is the expert on the excursions offered on the cruise route. He/She is passionate for discovering destinations, their history, art and culture. He/She has a strong propensity to sell and service to the guest especially during visits to the harbor. Good knowledge of at least two foreign languages ​​is required. Experience in the field of sales and / or touristic accompaniment is an added value. Main responsibilities
  • Maximizes revenues for the tours area suggesting new opportunities in accordance with Tour Manager guidelines
  • Monitors Guest activities during excursions to ensure compliance with service standard and safety procedures
  • Takes active part in a work environment that support a successful safety culture. Is a dynamic contributor in following safety policy and procedures
  • Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with Guests onboard and on tours to generate new business selling package tours in accordance with budgeted targets
  • Organizes back office activities and prepares all support material (ie. ticket, stickers, maps) before sightseeing to provide adequate organization at tours starting, and checks the correctness of the final disembarkation transfers assignments in accordance with Tour Manager guidelines and planning
  • Reports to Tour Manager (in writing or verbally) on tours Guest needs, interests, and opportunities for new products and services to better fit Guest needs and increase company revenues
  • Listens to Guest’s complaints (ie. sales, excursions) and informs the Tour Manager to find the appropriate solution, if needed, or assure other departments are punctually informed
  • Gives assistance to injured Guest on tours to ensures adequate support in accordance with Company’s procedures and guidelines
  • Occasionally provides language translations during excursions in order to guarantee the language service during tours
Skills:
  • Education & Professional Experience:
    • Secondary School in tourism or languages
    • Degree in languages tourism communication is highly appreciated
    • Experience in Sales or Tour Operator is a plus
  • Technical skills:  MS Office, iOS, Android, Sales Techniques, Public Speaking, Problem Solving
  • Language skills: English & German fluent, additional languages are a plus
