Warehouse & Production Manager
bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? We always use field-fresh high-quality flowers straight from the grower and deliver to our customers through a high-tech and highly creative platform. We are already active in five countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK, and Denmark. Next step? to conquer Europe… and then the world. Our goal? Operations at bloomon
We’re responsible for hand-tying and delivering tens of thousands of flowers per week across five countries (and counting). How? By combining a dedicated hands-on mentality with data-focused strategic thinking. We relish the challenge of keeping our blooms super fresh on their 36-hour journey from flower bed to table. We create every arrangement with care to ensure consistent superior quality as we spread happiness. As the logistics hub for dozens of external depots per country, we operate our dense network of long-haul shipments and local traffic like pros. Our multidisciplinary team is organised, punctual, and results - oriented. We love seeing the rewards of our efforts in happy customers. What will you do?
Our warehouse in Aalsmeer, close to the Royal Flora Holland flower auction, is the central logistical hub of our entire European supply chain. At the 5.000 m2 we create thousands of bouquets on a daily basis. With a team of 60+ people we receive our fresh flowers overnight, check the quality in the morning, create bouquets in high pace during the day, and load dozens of trucks in the evening.
You are responsible to run the daily operations at the warehouse, to make sure all our customers receive a beautiful bouquet in time. You will make sure our warehouse organization is of the highest quality, so our supply chain runs smooth and without any hiccups.
You will work together with an international team, based in Aalsmeer, Amsterdam, London and Berlin, organizing and managing the daily operations.
You will be responsible for:
- Creating the daily production planning and team setup;
- Managing the team leaders and shift leaders in managing the operation;
- Professionalizing and optimizing the internal warehouse logistics (digitalize processes, standardizing operations, robotize activities, etc.);
- Participate and run projects (create new production and packaging lines, implements new software, etc.);
- Manage warehouse to stay in control of KPI’s on people, safety, quality, costs and process;
- Build, lead and develop the fixed operational team (6+ FTE);
- Build, lead and develop the flexible operational team (60+ employees);
- Drive process and quality innovation.
Requirements
What do we expect from you?
- In this role it is important to be numbers driven, analytical, and fact based, but even more to be a real people oriented motivator, hands-on, pro-active and a pragmatic problem solver.
- 2-4 years working experience in warehouse or production environment;
- Experience as manager or team lead;
- MSc degree in business or similar;
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to motivate team;
- Detail oriented and precise;
- Good analytical skills, data driven;
- Structured approach to work, able to plan ahead and keep overview;
- Energetic team player;
- Strong problem solver and ownership taker, always thinking 2 steps ahead;
- Can handle great responsibility;
- Willing to learn and grow with the company.
- German skills are considered a plus
