Department: Central Reservations Office in London – The Ascott Ltd. Head office in Barbican, Shift work - Opening Hours 8.00am – 7.00pm Monday to Friday Key reporting Line / Reports to: Central Reservations Manager UK & Germany, Central Reservations Team Leader UK & Germany/ Assistant VP Sales & Marketing Job Purpose: To ensure that an efficient and professional accommodation booking service is provided and maintained according to the company standards, and that all guests requirements are communicated accurately to the operational teams Key Responsibilities & Missions
  • To answer the telephone in accordance with standards in a professional and personalised manner
  • To answer in a timely manner all emails received daily according to the Service Level Agreement
  • To deal with all enquiries in a courteous and professional manner, taking every opportunity to up sell, in accordance with Company standards
  • To maximise the hotel revenue and guest satisfaction by receiving, handling, and processing rooms reservations
  • To display a clear and comprehensive knowledge of the hotels and their facilities.
  • To record full and accurate details of bookings in accordance with Company and hotel procedures
  • To be able to understand and to take into account the Revenue management set up, in order to answer to the client accordingly
  • To inform clients of the full terms of business, including the cancellations policy and the need to confirm bookings prior to arrival
  • To deal with complaints/problems efficiently and effectively, making every effort to resolve them. Should you be unable to, to refer them to your Line Manager but, in any case, advise full details to your Line Manager at the first opportunity

Hours and Rewards As a Reservations Agent, you will work 40 hours per week and there is a basic salary on offer of £18,000 to £19,000 per annum, with an OTE of circa £21,000 per annum and an excellent incentive of a monthly bonus scheme.   • Spoken and Written German and English Languages Fluently
  • Education – hospitality related qualification preferred
  • Experience - hospitality related, preferably in hotels
  • Proficient IT user
  • OPERA / PROTEL PMS experience desirable
  • Prior customer service and selling experience
